The building was redesigned to help reduce its environmental impact and make use of advanced building management systems: the apartments are controlled by building automation, control, management and telecommunications systems.
In the public areas, the plant rooms have been repurposed, now housing alternative electricity generation technologies.
Capacity: 89 rooms in the hotel, 50 in the residence (studios and apartments) and 17 separate penthouses with their own private entrance.
UNAHOTELS Le Terrazze Treviso Hotel & Residence is the result of an ambitious project to repurpose a building undertaken by Marco Piva architects in 2011, the studio’s second and most advance design, after Next 21, a multi-purpose building in Osaka, Japan.
“Le Terrazze represented an opportunity to demonstrate that an existing structure can be put to new use, giving it a totally new concept. The aim was to create a multi-functional building which could combine living spaces and communal areas: a hotel, an auditorium for cultural events, a gym, a wellness centre, business and commercial spaces and a number of different types of apartments."
“New architectural concepts, sometimes derived from the reuse of disused industrial and commercial structures, can create solutions which offer advanced and innovative forms and functions, bringing new aspects to residential life in suburban areas.
